The Detroit Pistons will reportedly hire Dwane Casey as the team’s next head coach, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Casey agrees to a five year deal with the Pistons after being fired by the Toronto Raptors a month ago.
Casey will be replacing Stan Van Gundy, who went 152-176 with the Pistons.
Despite Toronto having the best record in the Eastern Conference at 59-23, the Raptors were still no match for the Cavaliers, getting swept by LeBron & co., 4-0.
This latest loss to Cleveland makes it the third consecutive season the Raptors were eliminated by the Cavaliers.
Toronto went 320-238 under Casey, with five postseason appearances.
Now, Casey will take his head coaching talents to the Detroit Pistons who boast Andre Drummond, along with the mid-season acquisition of Blake Griffin.
