More and more news about Kyrie Irving is surfacing. More and more news suggesting that Irving’s time in Boston will be nothing more than a pit stop.
This past Friday, ESPN’s Ian Begley, appearing on “The Alan Hahn Show“, says the Knicks are strong contenders for Kyrie Irving in 2019.
“A lot of people around the league, because of that list, and because of the ties there, really think the Knicks will be a strong option for the Kyrie next summer”, says Begley.
This comes after Irving recently said that signing long term with the Celtics doesn’t make much sense.
As a matter of fact, we can trace this back a little further. When Irving requested to be traded away from Cleveland last summer, Boston wasn’t one of the four teams on his list. San Antonio, New York, Miami and Minnesota were the four preferred destinations.
It’s still early and it’s pretty much all speculation at this point, but Kyrie Irving could find himself playing with Kristaps Porzingis in New York. Not to mention other notable free agents who would look to New York as a possible destination as well.
