Kawhi Leonard has officially shaken up the NBA. Yes, even in an offseason where LeBron James is a free agent.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Leonard is telling teams, interested in trading for him, that he plans to sign with the Lakers in 2019.
Kawhi Leonard was upset at how the Spurs mishandled his injury situation, and was unhappy about the lack of support from his teammates, specifically Tony Parker, throughout the season.
This report surfaced about an hour after it was made public that Gregg Popovich and Kawhi Leonard actually met on Tuesday in San Diego.
Popovich met with Leonard to try and resolve issues between Leonard and the Spurs organization.
Leonard’s camp has made it pretty clear that the 2014 Finals MVP does not want to play with the Spurs, and wants out, preferably to Los Angeles.
