Metta World Peace makes bold Eastern Conference Finals prediction

Is Metta World Peace onto something?

If you ask NBA fans around the world who they could see in the eastern conference finals this upcoming season many will say either the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics or the Toronto Raptors but on Twitter, former player Metta World Peace, better known as Ron Artest had a prediction that was out of the ordinary.

In a tweet sent out around 5:40 P.M. EST on August 13, World Peace sent out a tweet saying that the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers will be in the eastern conference finals.

With the Pacers, them possibly going to the conference finals is not as crazy as people think it is as the Pacers have Victor Oladipo who had one of his best seasons as a pro so far which had him winning the most improved player award for the 2017-2018 season and Oladipo is arguably one of the best shooting guards in the NBA right now. Indiana also Myles Turner who is one of the best centers in the league and still has a ton of upside as the young center is only 22 years old. If they can add possibly another all-star to the team this team has a realistic chance of making a conference finals appearance.

What got fans scratching their head was the other team that World Peace predicted facing the Pacers in the New York Knicks. The Knicks have been a mess for quite some time now, the team has not made the playoffs since 2013 in which they won 54 games that year but since then they have not had a winning season since then.

The team is also going through a rebuilding phase so they should not be thinking about trying to compete for the playoffs for a few more years. The team will most likely miss their star player Kristaps Prozingis for what it looks like far down the season as he is still recovering from a torn ACL injury, but there is hope for them to make some moves as Frank Ntilikina will have another year under his belt and rookie Kevin Knox has shown a ton of potential.

Even though Metta World Peace’s prediction may have confused people the wrong way don’t call him crazy because anything can happen in sports
