Do the New York Knicks actually have a shot at Kyrie Irving next off-season?
This offseason has been exciting.
LeBron signs with the Lakers.
Paul George re-signs with OKC.
Boogie signs with Golden State.
There’s more, and it makes you wonder: how can a NBA off-season be better than this one?
The 2019 free agent class is expected to be star-studded with Jimmy Butler, Klay Thompson and Kawhi Leonard joining Irving. That’s just to name a few.
Although the 2019 offseason isn’t for another nine months or so, the recruiting starts now.
Reports about the Knicks being interested has been surfacing for months now, and it seems to be *slowly* picking up traction.
And if you ask J.R Smith, his former team has a “high” chance of bringing the All-Star PG to New York.
Smith played in New York, and won a championship with Irving in Cleveland. So it makes you wonder if he believes the Knicks front office can pull this off, or if he really believes it’s what Kyrie will do.
There is a whole season that still needs to be played, so it’s all still blurry since it’s so far away.
The Knicks should have some optimism about bringing Irving to the Mecca.
Back in June, Kyrie said signing an extension with the Celtics didn’t make any sense. At the same time, Uncle Drew is happy in Boston.
We will just have to let this whole thing play out.
